24 Apr How to Hang Posters Without Damaging Them
Do you have a poster that you want to display in your home or office? If so, then you might want to think twice before using tape, thumbtacks, or other things that can damage your poster. If you want to keep your poster in good condition, then there are better ways to display it. Here are some ideas that you might want to consider.
Clean your walls first.
Your walls may look clean, but it’s still important to clean them off before you try to hang a poster. Use a soft cloth to gently remove dust. If you have any sticky residue on your wall, then you can add a small amount of water to the cloth to get it clean. Be sure to allow your walls to dry thoroughly before putting anything on display.
Flatten your poster before hanging it.
Many posters come rolled when you purchase them. Thus, you need to do something in order to prevent them from having curled edges. To avoid this, unroll your poster and lay it flat on a large, clean, flat surface such as a coffee table. Then, use a clean weight—such as a heavy book—to keep each corner flat. If possible, leave your poster this way for a few days.
Have your poster professionally laminated.
If you want to protect your poster, then mounting and laminating it is a smart move. When your poster is covered with a protective layer of plastic, you will be able to keep it in excellent condition for many years. Lamination also makes it easier for you to hang your poster without tearing or otherwise damaging it using tape.
