05 Aug Tips for Designing and Printing Open House Signs
Real estate agents and brokers know that they won’t get visitors to their open house without the right signage to direct them. An easy to read, durable, high-quality open house sign can be seen from the road and will bring in potential buyers. Here are our tips for designing and printing effective open house signage:
Be Large and Concise
Keep in mind that many of your potential buyers are driving by in their cars and won’t be able to read small font or lengthy sentences. Make your font large, and your message concise.
Use Graphics Wisely
Your logo should be included on your sign, but it doesn’t have the be the biggest or largest graphic on the sign. Consider using your headshot or even a photo of the house to really grab people’s attention as they drive by.
Be Careful with Fonts
Don’t use more than one font on your sign – it will become confusing and very heard to read. Likewise, stay away from non-traditional fonts or scripts that are difficult to read, and don’t get too fancy with the text placement either. Making people tilt their heads to read wording that is sideways will result in more traffic accidents than potential buyers.
Choose Three Main Colors
When choosing colors, try to stick to three or less so that the sign is more readable. Choose your company colors or just use bright, attention grabbing colors to draw buyers in.
Don’t Forget Your Phone Number and Email
Not everyone will have time to stop by your open house, but they may see your sign and want to know more. Be sure to include your phone number and email so that people can contact you and find out about the open house, or ask you about other houses you have for sale.
Have Your Signs Professionally Printed
This should go without saying, but your open house signs should be professionally printed by a dependable local printing company—don’t hand write your sign.
